, Wayne Gao have been engaged in ceramic glaze research and ceramic art creation. Today, Wayne Gao renowned in the Chinese ceramic field for my exquisite skills and unique craftsmanship. Large-scale ceramic murals are permanently exhibited in parks at Chinese airports and train stations.
Wayne Gao developed a new vertical line technique from traditional Chinese ceramic art, combining it with his unique ceramic glaze technology developed through dedicated research. During the 2000-Fahrenheit firing process, the ceramic works maintain the hardness of the body of clay while simultaneously preserving the vibrancy of the glaze colors. During firing, the glaze exhibits a unique fluidity and intermingling, allowing the works to showcase a distinctive artistic style and giving them a completely new visual experience. The effect is both as fluid as watercolor and as rich in texture as oil painting. Wayne Gao’s ceramic art works are primarily based on vertical lines, resulting in delicate expressions and a more three-dimensional visual effect. Wayne Gao also relies on this vertical line ceramic technique for his works. Winner of the second prize in the China Advanced Technology Invention Competition, Wayne Gao has gained widespread recognition from his Chinese ceramic peers since introducing his unique ceramic art techniques.
This includes gold medals from authoritative figures in the industry, such as the China Ceramic Artists Association, the China Inventors Association, and the China Scientists Association, recognizing his outstanding contributions. Wayne Gao was awarded the title of Outstanding Professional Talent in China.
, and in 1996, Wayne Gao was awarded the title of Master of Chinese Folk Ceramic Crafts, becoming the youngest ceramic worker to receive this honor that year. His works also won the gold medal at the 9th China Arts and Crafts Hundred Flowers Awards.
, Wayne Gao came to the United States to continue his ceramic art creation, bringing new visual experiences to the American. His works have also received praise from many American and artists. Wayne Gao is not only the founder of this vertical line in flat ceramic art technique but also currently the only artist in the United States using this method for flat ceramic creation. He also welcomes ceramic art enthusiasts to collaborate on research opportunities.
